Solid wood, steel and love

We are woodboom and since summer 2015 we have been designing furniture and interior concepts for private households, restaurants, hotels, offices and everything that inspires us and falls into our hands.

Mischa as managing director, David as hall manager, Lisa and Kei as helping hands in the office and workshop are based in Berlin, Germany. Franziska lives in Zurich and is now inspiring Switzerland with the woodboom aesthetic.

Our four walls, in which we can give free rein to our creativity and our urge to produce, are located in a listed industrial hall on the site of the former Josef Orlopp rolling bearing factory in Berlin. Ball bearings were produced there from the 1930s until 1992. The tradition of manual work is continued at the depot by a handful of different companies and a vocational training school.

Mischa, who was active as a cameraman and extreme sportsman in his youth, found his calling and passion in handicrafts around 5 years ago. He experimented with concrete, marble, various types of metal and wood, from oak to tulip wood. The handicrafts and unconventional materials quickly found many friends and interested parties - woodboom was born.

Our carpenter David was the first to follow Mischa and his desire to create. Franziska was at Mischa's side from the beginning in an advisory capacity and a few years later Kei brought the structure into today's GmbH. Lisa, who like Mischa comes from their hometown of Konstanz, found her way to the hall and into the woodboom family in 2017.

For all of us, furniture is more than just objects - it reflects our individual lifestyle and is an expression of our love of craftsmanship and nature. This ultimately formed the basis for what woodboom is today and what it stands for: unique pieces made of wood, steel and the warmth of a close-knit company network.
