Studio4L
As a young design label, Studio 4L focuses on timelessly simple design and handmade products.
Our vision is to create products that impress with their minimalist, modern design, their high-contrast design and their connection to traditional craftsmanship. We manufacture each of our products in small series with great attention to detail, giving them a piece of our passion. Our main focus is on creating pieces of jewelry that do not just follow a fashion trend. Rather, we focus on Scandinavian design, the particularly high stability of our own concrete mixes and the use of high-quality materials to create products that our customers will enjoy for a long time. During production, our environment is of course also important to us, which is why we pay attention to the sustainable use of the materials and resources used.
Be inspired by lovingly handcrafted concrete jewelry and fashionable accessories.
3 questions for the designer
What motivated you to become a designer?
From a very early age, I really enjoyed manual challenges and creative activities, and products have always held a special fascination for me. This never changed during my school years. My enthusiasm for creating new things, making things with my own hands and being able to influence the function of products was ultimately what inspired me to become a product designer. The classic "nine-to-five job" with the same tasks every day was not really an option for me, even when I was at school!
How did you feel when you held your first finished product in your hands?
It was wonderful! I was incredibly happy and at the same time overwhelmed by the result that I had created with so much passion and hard work with my own hands. All the effort and setbacks were suddenly forgotten and the only thing that was in the foreground was the fascination to keep going. The best thing about it for me is that this feeling continues to accompany me with every new product - a sign for me that I am doing the right thing and the greatest motivation for the future.
What does “good design” mean to you?
For me, good design is characterized by timelessly functional products that impress with their simplicity, as well as their durability and the most sustainable production possible. For me, less is often more, because in my view, "good design" should not only work on its own in the respective product, but also in combination with many other products in our environment - this is best achieved through simple aesthetics paired with that certain something.
