How it all began …

The story of StoryTiles begins with little Marga. In her childhood, her head was full of imaginative ideas that kept her busy all day long.
As she grew older, she attended the School of Arts in Amsterdam. There she made hundreds of collages, small works of art, on ceramics.

One day, Marga's grandmother gave her a box of beautiful old Dutch tiles from the 1600s. She breathed new life into them with her own designs. The authentic character of the tiles was given a special touch: a humorous wink to the past.

Since 2013, the studio on the Amsterdam IJ has been releasing a new collection every spring and autumn. StoryTiles fires its tiles in its own country using artisanal methods in a traditional kiln. Marga is still the lead designer today. She regularly works with well-known designers and museums. StoryTiles supplies more than 300 stores in 20 different countries.

The dream of the little girl with so many stories in her head has come true! Lovers all over the world collect Marga van Oers' designs with their universal imagery as small works of art on the wall.
