Freiburg i. Breisgau, Nov. 2019: Programmer Adrian Rennertz and violin maker Sebastian Oberlin develop Klang2. The interactive, acoustic-haptic app for mobile devices combines the aesthetics of violin making with the smart possibilities of the digital world.

Who are you?

klang² are Sebastian Oberlin and Adrian Rennertz.

Sebastian Oberlin, born in 1980 in San Francisco, CA, learned to play the violin at the age of 4.

In 2002 he began training as a violin maker in Milan, IT. Since 2010 he has been running the Andernach violin making workshop in Freiburg im Breisgau.

Born in Ulm in 1986, Adrian Rennertz lives and works in Freiburg and Berlin as a freelance media artist, musician and programmer. After studying media informatics at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, he works with generative sounds and interactive soundscapes.

Together we have used our skills and abilities to bring the new world a little closer to the old world. Or vice versa...
